Meet Rajdeep Das, the visionary behind Bark Bark Coffee in Guwahati, Assam. His love affair with coffee began in 2016 during a trip to Europe, where he discovered the art and science behind brewing coffee beyond the realm of instant coffee. Inspired by the European coffee culture, Rajdeep embarked on a journey to master the craft of coffee making and transform his passion into a business venture.

 

Rajdeep's journey led him to explore various brewing techniques and coffee origins, eventually bringing him to the northeastern region of India. It was here that he stumbled upon Barail coffee from Dima Hasao and was captivated by its unique flavor profile. Intrigued by the untapped potential of northeastern coffee, Rajdeep delved deeper into the world of specialty coffee, immersing himself in blogs, books, and visits to roasteries.

In 2021, Rajdeep's vision for a specialty coffee house in Assam began to take shape. Armed with a newfound knowledge and passion for coffee, he set out to create a space where people could not only enjoy great coffee but also learn about its origins and brewing methods. Thus, Bark Bark Coffee was born, with a mission to revolutionize the coffee scene in Guwahati and beyond.

From the outset, Rajdeep was determined to challenge the norms of the coffee industry and introduce innovative brewing techniques to his customers. He envisioned Bark Bark Coffee as more than just a place to grab a cup of coffee; it was to be a hub for coffee enthusiasts to gather, learn, and share their love for coffee.

 

With the support of 7000 Steps, Rajdeep's dream became a reality. By sourcing high-quality beans from Meghalaya and Assam, Bark Bark Coffee quickly gained a loyal following, with customers raving about the exquisite flavors of northeastern coffee.

But Rajdeep's vision doesn't stop at one cafe. He envisions expanding his brand to multiple outlets, promoting coffee culture not only in Guwahati but also across Southeast Asia. With plans to create a coffee community and educate people about the art of brewing, Rajdeep is on a mission to elevate the coffee experience in Assam and beyond. 

As Bark Bark Coffee continues to thrive, Rajdeep remains committed to his passion for coffee and his vision of building a coffee empire that celebrates the rich heritage and flavors of northeastern coffee.

 

Currently, Rajdeep is delighting customers with his unique coffee offerings in the outdoor space of his cafe, using manual brewing techniques. Rajdeep is also in the process of creating a video aimed at fostering a community of coffee enthusiasts in Guwahati. If Rajdeep manages to gather a community of 150 to 200 people, he plans to extend benefits to them for being part of the coffee community. These benefits may include opportunities to learn barista skills, the coffee-making process, or even coffee roasting techniques.
